How many times have you heard a song on the radio, at a concert, or even at a restaurant where you could not wait to get home to try and figure it out on the piano? That is one of the best things about learning piano where you can put everything you have learned together and then sit down and start making your music. According to studies, playing by ear is not usually taught in the beginning. Some musicians do not even learn to read music, they play everything by ear.
