WHAT IMPACT DOES MUSIC LEAVE ON THE SOCIETY

Every year more and more talented artists emerge from different music schools in Atlanta. Musicians are the masters of influence, whether they know it or not and whether they aim to be it or not. The sound and the messages they convey with their art directly impact the audience in powerful ways, especially on the youth of our society. A professional musician can see that music is a sharp agent in shaping a person over the years. So, in retrospect, it is probably our unspoken task to create the music that will be raised in the next generation, to impact them and impact our society. If the artists can gain a broader awareness of how their art make a difference around them, they will undoubtedly be better artists. The music deeply impacted our society morally, emotionally, and on our culture.

CULTURAL IMPACT

Popular music of our day reflects the culture of our time. And in this modern era, culture is changing more broadly than ever before, reflecting music styles evolving and being born faster. In other words, culture and music are inter-related and work together. What our parents loved, children today do not. And in a few years, music that we think is cool now will probably become obsolete. We need to be more aware of our modern culture, but more importantly, we need to be intentional about the cultures we want to create and develop with our music.

MORAL IMPACT

Morality is related to behavior and is defined as "beliefs about what is right and wrong."

In every genre of music today, countless songs glorify sex, drugs, and violence. Although research may link the cause-and-effect behavior of listening to these songs to direct induction of this type of behavior, many researchers and individuals agree that it is truly encouraging.

However, morals and behavior are not precisely the same as the words we listen to, for there are many aspects of character building. Many do not know how it works, but people who love music are often related and often analyze the author's point of view in a song. Music indeed plays a vital role in our personal beliefs.

EMOTIONAL IMPACT

Emotion is probably the most identifiable and direct impact of music on people in society. It makes us feel a certain way. Music has the power to change moods, attitudes and atmosphere, and promote alternative morals, and as human beings, our behavior is strongly influenced by how we feel. In terms of emotions, the most important thing to consider is: What we hear; how do we want our listeners to feel when they hear a song? Because what you hear will help you determine how your listener will feel.

So, in short, music whether it is instrumental, vocal, or DJ performance has the power to influence our society culturally, morally and emotionally. Therefore, the more intentional we become with the messages, sounds, and emotions that we create and release with our music, the more powerful we will be at making profound and positive effects.
